Met Council launched a new initiative, called Employee Impact Day, in which staff members were given the opportunity to volunteer at an array of programs within the agency and participate in team building exercisers with other Met Council employees. For the inaugural event, staff members spent the morning sprucing up the garden of Met Council’s, Linda & Jerome Spitzer Residence, an affordable housing site for seniors.
The volunteers- from many different departments- weeded, planted and trimmed plants in order to improve the garden. They used this opportunity to not only learn more about Met Council, but also learn more about each other.
Their work was overseen by the building’s Garden Club president. Joy was palpable as the president’s vision of the garden came to life right before his eyes.
