Volunteers from United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism spent the day assisting our clients. The group participated in a hands-on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) workshop. With a SNAP budget, the volunteers went food shopping and then cooked the food. The prepared food was then delivered to food insecure families in the Lower East Side. These activities showed the volunteers the difficulties that families on Food Stamps face.
