Met Council Hosts Rabbinic Panel on Jewish Values of Giving Charity

Rabbinic panel 5.8.14Met Council staff participated in a rabbinic panel discussion on the Jewish perspectives on poverty, acts of charity and deeds of kindness. The panel provided insight to the values, laws, and historical background of poverty and philanthropy in Judaism.  The panel discussed the importance of helping others by providing dignity to those in need- work done every day at Met Council.

The panelists were Rabbi Saul Berman of Yeshiva University, Rabbi Michael Paley of UJA-Federation, and Rabbi Ari Hart of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale.
