More than 80 Met Council Staff Meet to Explore the Jewish Poverty Report

image017Director of Research at UJA-Federation of New York Jennifer Rosenberg presented to more than 80 Met Council staff on the research process and findings of the Jewish Community Study of New York: Special Report on Poverty by UJA-Federation of New York in consultation with Met Council. Drawing on nearly 6,000 interviews, the report is the most comprehensive look to date at the needs in New York’s Jewish communities. The report confirms what we at Met Council have seen every day of the last 10 years: there is greater need in our communities today than at any time in our 40 year history.

Jennifer’s visit is part of the on-going effort by Met Council to comprehensively understand the report and discover new ways Met Council can best serve our communities. Following the presentation, many staff members volunteered for the internal committee to further explore programs and initiatives based on what our caseworkers see on the ground every day and are supported by the report’s findings
