Met Council volunteers planned and executed The Coney Island Challenge, a fun filled field day for local youth in Coney Island, an area that continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy. Fifty kids – and a few parents – competed in various games and challenges, including a ring toss, wheelbarrow race, and even a human knot. Players took home prizes generously donated by Toys ‘R’ Us and Coney Island’s Luna Park. Participants and volunteers of all ages had a great time, and Met Council was delighted to bring a day of hope and joy to the community.
